5 Ways to Write a Damn Good Sentence

Writing is all about being able to deliver a combination of sentences that leave an impact on the reader. When they read it, they feel mesmerized. They like what they are reading and willingly read till the end. Hence a writer along with creativity, skill, vocabulary and a good expression also needs to know how to structure a sentence. The sentence structure is what makes the written material worth reading. If the sentence makes no sense and there are also some grammatical errors the reader would not be happy to read it. A bad sentence structure not only causes you to lose marks but also leaves a bad impression on the teacher.

It does not matter if the vocabulary used in an essay, term or research paper, is average with simple words being used and no big difficult ones used. What matters is the way a sentence is written. There are numerous ways to ensure that you write and excellent sentence. Firstly, always remember what is the purpose of the sentence? Or what is the sentence supposed to convey. A sentence should be providing some sort of message relevant to the topic. Secondly, every sentence has a significance, make sure that you convey it to the reader. The reader, while reading your paper should not feel like if this sentence was not written it would have not made a big difference. Thirdly, do not be conscious about the vocabulary being used in the sentence. A sentence may have simple words, but as long as it is properly structured and serving the purpose it is good enough. Fourthly, you need to be good at grammar. Grammar is an essential part for homework writing, a wrong use of ‘is’ instead of ‘was’ can make a huge difference. What is even worse is that if the reader notices it, he would ridicule the writer for being careless. Always check your sentence for grammatical errors. Fifthly, the most important thing in order to write a good sentence is to make sure that your sentence is giving away some sort of worthy information. It should include some fact or figure. Lastly, always remember the reader should be able to imagine everything that he is reading so the sentence should have words that portray the whole scene for the reader. Make them feel like it is not all scribbles it is real.
